The biggest advantages of IESOL exams:
EXAM FORMAT
IESOL LRW (Listening, Reading, Writing) – listening, reading, writing
This exam module consists of a listening comprehension section (26 questions) – each question is played twice, which allows for better understanding of the content of the question and gives time to provide the answer. The duration of this section is up to 20-30 minutes depending on the selected CEFR level. The reading comprehension section also consists of 26 questions. The writing section consists of two tasks. The time allocated for these two parts is from one hour to 2 hours and 10 minutes.
The duration of the LRW section depends on the selected level and takes between 1h 20m and 2h 40m.
The exam score is 0-50 points for each part of the exam, 150 points in total. The pass level of the exam is 75 points, the result with distinction (High Pass) is awarded for 101 points and more.
ISESOL – speaking
The Speaking module of the IESOL exam is taken in real time and ‘live’ in the presence of the exam administrator (Interlocutor). This part of the exam is recorded and sent to LanguageCert for marking, so the exam administrator does not evaluate the candidate’s speech, which guarantees impartiality of the assessment and increases its credibility. This exam module consists of 4 parts and lasts from about 6 to about 20 minutes depending on the level chosen.
The exam is scored on a scale of 0-50 points. The pass level is 25 points, the result for distinction is 38 points and above.
