About the Centre for German Language and Culture of the University of Zielona Góra

The University of Zielona Góra's Centre for German Language and Culture (In Polish: CKiJN) was established by Resolution No. 42 of the Senate of the Zielona Góra University of Technology of 26 March 1997. This decision was upheld after the University of Zielona Góra was established by Resolution No. 142 of the Senate of the University of Zielona Góra of 17 December 2003.

The CGLC is a university-wide organisational unit originally directly within the UZ Vice-Chancellor's Division for Science and International Cooperation and, from 10 February 2021, within the structure of the UZ University Centre for Language Education.

The tasks of the CGLC include building up German-Polish understanding and promoting joint projects in the German-Polish border region in the spheres of culture, the neighbouring language and socio-economic life. In doing so, the CGLC carries out tasks that fulfil the provisions of the 1991 Treaty of Good Neighbourhood and Friendly Cooperation between the Republic of Poland and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The CGLC employs 1 person on a half-time basis as a German language specialist.
